Biography:

Asfalt is an Egyptian Hip Hop group, represented by 2 emcees. Through their songs, Asfalt tries to reach out to average Arab men/women about everyday life issues, culture, values etc... Mix some feel good music with some Egyptian pop culture and there you have Asfalt. As they are dealing with those composers for most or their songs Mostafa Negm , Fredwrek (Ya Renta), Hatem Morsy

Asfalt plays Arabic/English Hip-Hop music, Sounds Like...An Egyptian Soap Opera, and they chose the name Asfalt because it's real, hard, rough, original, and that's them. They were influenced by Classical Arabic Music (Abd El Haleem, Um Kalthum, Fairouz) and Rap/Hip Hop Music (The Roots, Krs-One, Mos Def..).
