Biography:
Massar Egbari was formed in Alexandria as a statement against the restrictions society imposes on us in an effort to force routine into our lives, which seriously limits creativity. The cynicism in the name is part of the band's message. This ensemble participated in numerous international festivals in Malta, Italy, Turkey and Macedonia, and in Arab festivals in Kuwait and the UAE. They participated only once in an African music festival held in Tanzania. In April Massar Egbari was honoured by UNESCO in Paris and received the title of Artist for Intercultural Dialogue between the Arab and Western Worlds. The group has also participated in numerous movies such as Microphone directed by Ahmed AbdAllah and some documentaries.
