Maker Fair Africa 2011

Are you an innovator, artist, engineer, or a designer? Do you believe in innovation and creativity? Have you ever invented something and you believe in it?
If yes, don't miss out the three day creative fair "Maker Faire Africa 2011" from October 6th to 8th at the American University in Cairo.

It's the third event for "Maker Faire Africa" which will take place this year in Egypt, as was the case in Accra (‘09) and Nairobi ('10).

Its mission is to cultivate new and existing maker communities across Africa. MFA 2011 will present and spotlight the vibrant and endlessly creative individuals that have come to represent the spirit of "making" throughout the continent. These innovators, artists and tinkerers will be exhibiting a fusion of the informal and formal; ideas, inventions, hacks and designs both low-tech & high-tech, from cuisine to machine.
The fair will include engineers, artists, designers, entrepreneurs, tinkerers & hackers to celebrate the African ingenuity & innovations as well as public exhibit, professional workshops, social meet-ups, project mash-ups, competitions and more.
It's a fast fusion of original ideas, curious minds, brilliant hacks and thoughtful designs, where the makers will connect with business investors, industry professionals, and the general public.

For more information you can listen live to the "Maker Faire Africa" official press conference on Sound of Sakia online radio, which will be held on October 4th from 11am till 2pm, live from El sawy culturewheel.
